First and foremost, I could not recommend the Dromhall Hotel enough as a wedding venue – we were so happy with the venue for our special day. From the first time that we called to the Dromhall to discuss our wedding, we couldn’t have been made feel more welcome. Ciara was our point of contact from day 1 and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. There was no job too big or too small, and she was always quick to get back to us and was incredibly accommodating in the run up to the big day. As for the day itself, the drinks reception area is a beautiful space – there was no shortage for bottles of beer, prosecco, mulled wines, teas and coffees with plenty of room to mingle and plenty of seating as well. The staff were very friendly and kept everyone fed and watered for the couple of hours before the meal. The main function room looked absolutely beautiful – there are a number of structural columns around the room which really add character to the space. The food was nothing short of incredible. Our options were a rack of lamb, hake or a chicken dish – each as nice as the next, but the rack of lamb was truly exceptional. Probably the best wedding food I’ve ever had. The staff were extremely efficient for the meal – the bell was called at 6pm and we were finished eating at 9 – including speeches. That allowed the band to set up earlier and we got a full night of dancing in after that. The efficiency of the Dromhall staff to feed 230 guests seamlessly like that – without ever appearing to be rushing – was incredible. The bar was well staffed and well stocked – there is nothing more frustrating than waiting 10 minutes at the bar trying to get a drink – no fear of that on our night – there were three barmen behind the counter at all times and kept the drinks flowing. The night time food was absolutely beautiful. We had small burgers (sliders) which were both unusual for that time of the night, and absolutely lovely, chicken – which was divine, and then some sandwiches, cocktail sausages etc. That late night food was absolutely lovely. All in all, dealing with the Dromhall was a fantastic experience – from Ciara, Seán, Bernadette and Mike, to the day itself – absolutely fantastic.
